Cut-outs: Selecting specific objects from an image file. This process is essential in the business of advertising and publications which utilizes selected objects for illustrations.

Retouching: Images are modified to add certain aesthetic or visual characteristics not inherent in the original. Changes can be made in respect to; colour (ie- saturation, hue); image (sharpening of blurred objects, highlighting certain parts); size (resizing, distortion, cropping); format (change to different formats, JPEG to Bitmap). |
Color Correction: Color correction involves transforming the colors in an image for print, display, or special effects purposes. Depending on the application, color correction can be a significant problem if the resulting image must be approved or a purchase is decided on accurate color choice. Colour profile is used to maintain the consistency and accuracy of colour. As an example, we use Kodak colour profile for scanners, monitors, image editor as well as printers to ensure that the image is captured, viewed, processed and printed with consistence colours. Colour profile is very important in colour correction because there are many combination of colours (color numbers) and our eyes has limitation in detecting the differences. We need to use colour profile to ensure a systematic way to map color numbers to a particular color space. We call this as tagging the image file with a colour profile
