In a simple statement, networking means interconnection of two or more devices. Therefore, computer networking simply means interconnectivity of two or more computer units with the primary aim of sharing some resources. These resources may be hardware devices such as Printer, Hard Disk space, e.t.c. or software such as system programs (Operating System) or application programs that are commonly used by many users. It may also be information like files and folders.

Computer netwoking can basically be Local Area Network (LAN) through physical means by the use of cables or Wide Area Network (WAN) through wireless means, which is popularly known as the Internet.
